Professional Background
Gary Buentgen has been active in commercial real estate brokerage since 1978, specializing throughout his career in industrial buildings and land, property sales and leasing, investment real estate, and transactions involving 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. He has participated in nearly $1 billion in aggregate sales and leasing transactions, serving clients across a broad range of property sizes and transaction complexities.
Career & Market Experience
Gary began his career with commercial brokerage firms in Southern California before joining Cushman & Wakefield in the Irvine/Newport Beach market. He relocated to Idaho in 1992 and co-founded Intermountain Commercial Real Estate in 2003. As the firm’s remaining founding partner and Designated Broker, he continues to serve owners, buyers, investors, landlords, and tenants. Approximately 90% of his Idaho brokerage activity has been in the Treasure Valley, with the balance elsewhere in the state.

Gary has held the SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) designation since 1996 and has served four terms as the President of its Idaho Chapter. He also holds the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation, reflecting advanced training in commercial real estate investment analysis.
